The Gathering of Waters emerges from the tension between documentary intent and the limits of a Western gaze. Originating from a trip to the Pacific Islands, the project shifts from report to constructed fiction, using altered images and graphic disruptions to reveal how photography aestheticizes disappearance, fragility, and paradise, exposing the mechanisms through which catastrophe is imagined and consumed.
