Morgan is an artist and photographer based in Geneva (CH). Trained in applied photography, Morgan’s practice grew from both a fascination with and a resistance towards the medium’s formal constraints. Initially working with flash, gels, and staged imagery, they turned the camera toward themselves, embodying emotional states and constructed narratives as a way to inhabit, rather than merely depict what an image can hold. What began as an experimental practice of photography has since evolved into a conscious embrace of performativity, now central to their practice.
Engaging with the discourses of contemporary photography, their work extends into installation, 3D environments through which they question how images are produced, embodied, and displayed. Their work embraces the visibility of the process and the artifice of image-making, challenging the boundaries between reality and representation. Their imagery often unfolds across dramatic landscapes and atmospherically charged scenes where subdued colors and shifting light evoke an unreal sense of presence.
